Data policy

Last updated 20 October 2026.

The short version: roxapi is independent, the results belong to the people and organisers behind them, and if your app stores results about people, looking after that data in your app is up to you. Most apps only need a few simple habits for that, listed below.

We are independent

roxapi is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by HYROX or any of its partners. HYROX is a trademark of its owner; we use the name only to say what the data is about. Please don't present your app as official HYROX either.

Where the data comes from

The API serves race results that are published publicly after each race. We don't own those results or the athletes' information in them. What we provide is the work around it: collecting, cleaning up, structuring and serving it in a consistent format.

Accuracy

We mirror what is published, as it is published. If a source contains a mistake, the API will too, until the source is corrected. The data is provided as is, without a guarantee that it is complete or error-free, so don't use it for anything where a wrong time could cause real harm.

Building on the data

You are welcome to show the data in your app and build features on top of it. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Results are personal data. A name with a race time is information about a person. If your app stores it, you decide how it is used there, which makes you responsible for it under privacy law such as the GDPR.
  • In practice that usually means: use the data for the purpose your app is about, mention in your privacy notice that you show public race results, keep stored copies reasonably up to date, and remove a person's results from your app if they ask you to.
  • Don't use results to contact, market to or profile athletes outside what your app openly does with race data.
  • Only fetching and displaying without storing? Then there is little to manage on your side.

Our part

We handle the data in our own systems responsibly and only to run the API. What we store about you as a customer is on the privacy page. An athlete who wants a result removed at the source can ask the organiser to remove it from the published results.

Liability

We work hard to keep the API correct and available, but we can't be held responsible for how the data is used in apps built on it, or for losses caused by errors in the source data or by downtime.
